Support Program for the Organization of Events of Tourist Interest

The Portugal Events incentive system, applicable to the entire national territory (autonomous regions included), aims to support the holding of events that, due to their positioning and notoriety, contribute to the creation of territorial dynamics, diversification of the tourist experience, and consequent dispersion in space and time, enhance the dynamism of local economies (particularly in Low-Density Territories), or favour the international projection of the country and its regions.

Types of eligible events:

• Strategic Tourism Events - associated with the development of strategic tourism products that, due to their scale, are catalysts for attracting tourists and are capable of projecting the image of Portugal, with a minimum access investment of 500,000 euros;

• Associative or corporate events - events not consolidated in the events calendar of the territories where they are held, such as congresses, seminars or meetings and events of a local or regional nature that are capable of boosting local economies, enhancing the attraction of tourists and contributing to the projection of the image of the region where they are held;

• Events of local or regional nature - presented exclusively by Regional Tourism Entities and Regional Tourism Secretariats, provided that they are included in an annual events plan and contribute to the dynamization of local economies and enhance the attraction of tourist flows.

Support to be granted:

• Strategic tourism events - with a maximum limit of €250,000

• Associative or corporate events - with a maximum limit of €50,000

• Annual event plans - presented by Regional Tourism Entities and Regional Tourism Secretariats - with a limit, per plan, of €400,000, with emphasis on the dispersion of events throughout the territory and their distribution throughout the year.

Applications:

Applications must be submitted at least 60 working days in advance of the event start date.

Submission of applications for events in 2026 only from September 1, 2025.
